Our Projects

Samaúma

The Samaúma Project is a Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD) initiative developed in Apuí, Amazonas State, Brazil, by Terra Vista, a company within the Moss group. Covering a conservation area of 34,670.81 hectares of native forest, the project aims to avoid the emission more than 20 million tons of Greenhouse Gas (GHG). Developed in accordance with the REDD+ VCS (Verified Carbon Standard), as well as the triple gold standard for Climate, Community, and Biodiversity (CCB), the project, which aims not only to mitigate environmental impact through the executioin of two activities, "APD - Avoidance of Planned Deforestation" and "AUD - Avoidance of Unplanned Deforestation", but also to contribute to biodiversity preservation, it has received approval from the local community and benefits extractivists in situations of extreme social vulnerability, improving their quality of life.
